I purchased our MEGASLAM for home use. Although we're not serious basketball players, I want my system to last for years of enjoyment. We chose MEGASLAM because when comparing apples-to-apples, the quality of components, strength and design gave MEGASLAM the edge. I installed the system myself. The instructions were very easy to follow. The illustrations provided matched the written instructions so it really provided a thorough understanding of each step throughout the entire installation process. It is very important to have 2-3 strong helpers. Once assembled, I became even more happy with my decision. The pads are thick and excellent quality. The steel and finish is professional looking and the backboard is robust and stable. My OLD system was thinner steel and thinner backboard. You could hear the ball hit the pole and the backboard would rattle very loud. The MEGASLAM is solid!!! The system is MUCH quieter and basketball rebounds off the rim and backboard much more naturally. Before going into this, I didn't realize what a difference this would make in our play. The MEGASLAM seems better than any "commercial-grade" system that I've played on. It's not just suitable for residential play. It's certainly suitable for teams and tourney play...it's that good. Do note, the hole is no joke. I used a post-hole digger next to driveway. It was a bear because of the all the large gravel that exists underneath driveways made it difficult and slow-going. It took about 6 hours to dig my hole. Make sure you're able-bodied and in good physical condition. Consider testing your soil/location to ensure that you don't need a mechanical auger. A spud bar and reciprocating saw aided me to get through thick roots. What can be improved? I was on the fence whether I wanted to tackle the install myself or hire on of their installers. I attempted to contact 2 of their installers in my area. Neither of which contacted me back. But, MEGASLAM's customer service was very responsive and answered questions promptly. The physicality of the install is more concerning than the complexity of the install. So if you're capable, have help and not afraid of physical work, you should be just fine.
