I don’t typically write product reviews, but Megaslam hoops deserve me writing one... I’ve played years of basketball in hundreds of gyms and outdoor courts. I’ve had several home courts. I spent time in stores, watching videos, asking people questions, and conducting online reviews. I went with mega slam because of the weight, it was on sale (for not much more than one that I knew was of lesser quality) and after watching a video of a guy throwing a basketball pretty hard against the backboard and hanging on the rim. All ball players know that if the glass ain’t right, you can’t expect accurate rebounding or Backboard shots... anyway, this thing is a BEAST to move around due to the weight, but for that same reason, IT IS A PROFESSIONAL GRADE SYSTEM! The overall install is very simple. My wife and I did everything by ourselves until it was time to install the backboard... that WILL take 4 strong people, but only about 10 minutes to do. I used my pick up truck bed with 3 neighbors, went well. Bottom line, this is a HIGH quality basketball goal, it looks as good as it plays. For the money and quality, I seriously doubt you’ll find better. As a ball player for more than 40 years, I’m telling you, you can stop searching and get this goal as long as it is in your price range. There is no way you’ll be disappointed... my only complaint is that I was sent one bolt that seems incorrect, but it still worked. I also was sent an extra spring assembly?? One good thing is that the bolt sets are labeled by letter, and the hardware (washers, etc) are already on each nut and bolt assembly so you don’t have to go fishing around for anything. Once you dig a deep hole and pour concrete (I rented a mixer), the rest is very simple until it’s time to erect the backboard. Then you need some manpower. I think this goal will last many years, and I plan on having some great 3 on 3 tournaments right in my driveway with some very good adult players, it’s that good of a goal... also, it lowers with the turn of a crank down to 5 feet so I’ll be training my young daughter on this as she grows up... this is one of the more satisfying purchases I’ve made in years... AWESOME basketball goal... no exaggeration...
