I was about to pull the trigger on a lesser hoop from DSG, until I played on one of my neighbors, thing shaked like crazy and took a WHILE for it to calm down after each shot. I then found out another neighbor's son dunked on his lesser hoop (not a DSG) and the backboard broke off!!! Did some more research and found out about Megaslam. I ordered the MegaSlam over the holiday weekend and it arrived at my house exactly seven days later. First impression: This thing is MASSIVE!!! I had the main pole standing up in my garage and when my neighbor came over he thought it was a structural support pole for my garage LOL!!! A couple of hours later my other neighbor came over and thought the same exact thing. It took them a minute to realize what it was. I installed this myself. I dug the hole to spec, and ended up using 19.5 bags of concrete. I rented a mixer from a local hardware store for next to nothing and I highly recommend you do the same thing if you plan on your own installation. I was able to get a majorortiy of the hoop assembled, but needed two neighbors to install the backboard. I believe the instructions say 4-5 are needed but I will tell you three "somewhat" strong men can take care of the backboard installation. BTW, the instructions where well written and I also watched their you tube videos. I love the hoop. Aesthetically it looks awesome, and has a much more cooler and menacing presence than the other hoops in my neighborhood. It is night and day more stable than the cheaper hoops. It is easily adjustable, my four year old does it no problem. I love that it can go to five feet for the little ones. The older kids like to dunk on it and I have absolutely no fear that this thing will ever break like my neighbors did. I HIGHLY recommend this product. I understand its more expensive than your local sporting goods hoop, but if you plan on owning this for a while, and have teenage or young adult boys playing, then stretch you budget and buy the MegaSlam, you'll will thank yourself for doing so.
